Composite films for food packaging must meet the highest standards – especially with regard to food safety. If adhesives are not cured optimally, so-called primary aromatic amines (PAA) can be produced, which can migrate into the packaged food.

Primary aromatic amines – Safety in packaging – PAA in focus
Due to their harmful effects on health, strict limits apply to PAA. In addition to a total limit of 0.010 mg/kg of food, certain PAA may only migrate into the food in very small quantities of no more than 0.002 mg/kg.
Is your packaging compliant?
We can check this for you – reliably and accurately.
In our migration tests, we specifically analyse your samples for relevant PAA such as methylenedianiline (4,4'-MDA, 2,4'-MDA, 2,2'-MDA) and toluenediamine (2,4-TDA, 2,6-TDA). The simulant is enriched and the amines are precisely determined using HPLC.
You can rely on our expertise – for safe packaging and legally compliant products.
